Liza A. King, D.M.D.
I am a native of Connecticut and completed both my undergraduate degree and my doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Connecticut. I have been working in private practice dentistry since completion of my AEGD residency in 2008. I practiced in Connecticut for five years before moving to the Seacoast in 2013. At that time, I joined Dr. Karelitz and Dr. Kennedy at their long-established practice here in Dover. The patients in this office are truly what make dentistry such a wonderful career. I find it interesting and rewarding to interact with different people every day and feel as though I can make a positive change in their lives by improving their oral health. Dentistry has offered me a great opportunity to know my patients on a personal level and truly feel a part of the community.
It is incredibly satisfying to see a person smile in the mirror after having aesthetic dentistry completed, or even better, to have an anxious patient leave an appointment no longer afraid of the dentist. Those are the moments that make coming to work each day so fulfilling.
Education and Continuing Education
- Undergraduate Degree – University of Connecticut-Storrs
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine
- Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residence – University of Connecticut Health Center
I believe it’s imperative to stay current with patient care, including new techniques, technologies, and dental materials. I seek relevant continuing education topics each year to both improve my dental skillset and stay current with medical and pharmacological advances. Most recently I am participating in a Zimmer Biomet PathwayZ series, aimed at treatment planning and executing implant dentistry.
Outside the Office
My husband, Dr. Chris King of Dover Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and I relocated to New Hampshire to be close to all of the activities we love. Whether it's hiking, skiing, hitting the beach or water sports on the lake, we find ways to get outside and enjoy this beautiful area. And now, with four little ones at home, we are committed to exposing them to these same things! We've made our home in Madbury, and when we aren't home doing yard work, you can find us on the sidelines of the soccer field, the ice rink, or up north on the bunny slopes. We love seeing our patients at community activities and feeling a deeper connection to the area with every handshake.
